Serialised sales and after-sales support
Warranty management software connected to the serial you sold
DistributorFlow links a recorded serial number to the product and sale, keeps the saved shop-warranty dates and supports a customer claim with staff review. Computer, electronics and other shops selling serial-numbered items can follow a specific unit instead of relying on the product name alone.
See the current packages and allowances before you choose.
How is a shop warranty recorded on a sale?
Set the product's shop warranty in days and review its serial-tracking settings. During the supported distribution POS or order workflow, attach the intended unit serials and save the transaction. The record keeps the sale date and warranty-duration snapshot used for that sale.
Prepare the product
Check the correct product, warranty-day setting and any required serial namespace.
Scan the sold units
Use the serial scanner for the intended product row. A product that requires serial tracking needs one valid serial per sold unit.
Save and review
Wait for the saved result and review the associated sale and warranty record. Changing the product setting later does not rewrite earlier sale history.
What does a serial-based warranty example look like?
Suppose a sample product has a three-day shop warranty and the sold unit is recorded as DEMO-SN-001. A later lookup checks the saved sale and its recorded warranty expiry. If the catalogue warranty setting is changed to five days afterward, that change is for later records; it does not silently extend this earlier example sale.
DEMO-SN-001 is an illustrative code, not a customer record. Use the actual printed serial of the unit being sold and check the saved dates rather than calculating an entitlement from a current catalogue setting.
What can a customer see in the public warranty check?
The public serial check lets a visitor enter the full printed serial and review the relevant business, recorded warranty status and expiry. When a serial has more than one matching sale record, review the correct business and record separately. Detailed order information remains restricted to authorised account access.
A customer claim uses the signed-in customer account associated with the eligible sale. The recorded shop warranty is distinct from a manufacturer warranty decision.
How does the claim move from review to replacement?
An eligible customer submits a claim comment for the linked sale. Authorised staff review the claim and record an accepted or rejected decision with a comment. An accepted claim can use the supported serial-replacement action, which checks the replacement serial and keeps the change in the record history.
- Review the linked product, sale and saved warranty dates.
- Check the recorded claim status before replacing a serial.
- Use a replacement serial that belongs to the intended product and is available.
- Keep a decision and a completed replacement as separate recorded events.
Product answers
Is the product barcode its warranty serial?
Usually they identify different things. A product barcode locates a catalogue item; a unit serial identifies the particular unit sold. Capture the appropriate code in the appropriate POS workflow.
Does a claim automatically receive approval?
No. The workflow supports staff review and a recorded decision. A submitted claim or an active recorded warranty should not be presented as an automatic manufacturer decision or a completed replacement.
